CMRCC Welcomes EST Adam Fedak
Please join us in congratulating and welcoming brother Adam Fedak as the Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Central Midwest Regional Council of Carpenters!
A first-generation union carpenter. That’s what brother Adam Fedak is at his core. His dedication, hard work, and determination that brought to the jobsite every day has led him to where he is now.
Those same qualities followed him as he began to represent our membership in 2015 in Indiana – becoming a business representative, forming relationships with contractors, bringing new members in, and gaining a deeper understanding of the challenges that our members face daily. Here, he truly learned the importance of communication, relationships, and being present where the work is happening.
He carried these foundations to the Indiana/Kentucky training program; where, in 2021, he was named the Director of Education. Working with apprentices, instructors, contractors, and council leadership, he saw firsthand what investing in the young minds coming into this membership can lead to: a better-trained, tight-knit brotherhood that is capable of filling every job, meeting every demand, and being the best union carpenters in the UBC.
This connection with the membership, council staff, and contractors made another stop – serving as the Assistant Executive Secretary-Treasurer for the Central Midwest Regional Council of Carpenters. Here, he gained a high-level view of this organization. He gained broader perspective on the strategic, operational, and financial side of the council. He worked closely on long-term planning, market share growth, workforce development, contractor relations, and organizational incentives across our three states.
From learning the importance of interpersonal skills and relationships, seeing the value of investment in our members, strengthening the strategic scope he brings to work every day, and beyond, brother Adam Fedak finds himself as the Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Central Midwest Regional Council of carpenters, to lead this brotherhood into the future – through service and accountability.
“The mission of this council remains straightforward:” EST Fedak explained, “Create more opportunities for our members.”
Increasing work hours, growing marketing share, protecting our work, organizing new members and contractors, and continuing to deliver the best training in the industry. Those are some of the opportunities brother Fedak discussed when highlighting the goals for our brothers and sisters in this organization. At the end of the day, the question being asked will be “Are we creating more opportunities for our members?” So long that we focus on the core principles above, we’ll continue moving in the right direction.
In closing, EST Fedak left us with these thoughts:
“I want members to know that I never forget who we work for.
Every decision we make should help create opportunities for our membership and strengthen this union for future generations. I take that responsibility seriously.
Most importantly, I want members to know that I understand what is at stake. Every increase in membership, every work hour earned, every market share gain represents an opportunity for a member to provide for their family.”
This is the crux of brother Fedak’s leadership philosophy and mission that he’s bringing with him to this position. It’s about the members – every single one of you. It’s on all of us to propel this organization into the future, and we’re up for that challenge.
