Solar projects bring hundreds of thousands of work hours for UBC members annually. It’s up to us to help get more of these projects off the ground!

We need your help submitting emailed letters of support to the Delaware-Muncie Metropolitan Plan Commission for the Royerton Solar project in Delaware County, Indiana. It takes all of us, and we are stronger together.

Delaware-Muncie Metropolitan Plan Commission,

As a union member and skilled tradesperson, I want to express my strong support for the Royerton Solar project and urge you to reject the ordinance recommendations made by the Delaware County Commissioners.

This project represents good, family-sustaining jobs for hardworking men and women in our region. Union labor builds Indiana’s infrastructure - from schools and roads to bridges and energy, and we are proud to support smart investments like Royerton Solar that move our state forward.

Royerton Solar is a win for Delaware County and for working people because:

•	It will create local construction jobs for trained and experienced tradespeople, strengthening our workforce and economy.
•	It will inject money into local businesses including restaurants, gas stations, hotels during construction.
•	It will generate new tax revenue for schools, emergency services, and public infrastructure, without straining public resources.
•	It gives farmers and landowners a stable, long-term income option to support their families and preserve their land.
•	It respects private property rights while responsibly using land and protecting the environment.
•	It helps diversify our energy grid with reliable, American-made power.

The Commissioners’ proposed restrictions make no practical sense. Their ordinance would require over 100 variances, block private investment, and send good jobs and energy development elsewhere.

Union workers are ready to build this project safely, skillfully, and with pride. Please stand with working families, landowners, and the future of Indiana’s energy portfolio in our state by approving Royerton Solar.
